Books I - VI comprising parts I - XVIII in 18 original parts (only, of 19, lacking the last part, XIX; please see the note below). Title pages with woodcut borders, woodcut plates by Walter Crane, initials and ornaments, publisher's inserts printed in red. Original pink pictorial wrappers by Walter Crane (some light staining at the edges of the wrappers). Internally, the parts are in exceptionally fine fresh condition. A publisher's insert at the front of part XVIII, printed in red, describes the 19th part which is absent from this set: "Part XIX., completing the WORK, will consist of about eighty pages, with the Editor's Introduction and Notes, and four full-page Illustrations, three Canto headings, and two Tailpieces. In November [1896]". ONE OF 1,000 COPIES "printed on Arnold's unbleached handmade paper". (18)
