DERLETH, August (1909-71).  Something Near. Sauk City, Wisconsin: Arkham House, 1945. 8vo (188 x 130mm). Half title, woodcut printer's device on the title (very lightly and consistently browned throughout, commensurate with wartime paper standards). Original black cloth, the spine lettered in gilt, the dust-jacket by Ronald Clyne with the price of $3.00 unclipped (some very minor rubbing to the corners of the jacket, some discolouration to the edges of the wrappers). FIRST EDITION. A printed note at the end states: "Two thousand copies of this book have been printed by The Collegiate Press, George Banta Publishing Company, from linotype Caledonia on Cream Eggshell. The binding cloth is Holliston Black Novelex." A note on the front turn-in states: "These twenty new stories by August Derleth include four tales in the Cthulhu Mythos pattern of the late great H. P. Lovecraft, two of them of novelette length."
