Printed in red and black in Golden, Troy and Chaucer types, woodcut illustration by Edward Burne-Jones of "Pysche Borne off by Zephyrus" engraved by William Morris, woodcut decorative borders and initials by William Morris with the Kelmscott Press device at the end, the colophon printed in red, erratum slip loosely-inserted (stating "Misprint: p.44, l.12. Please alter 1893 to 1896", but not corrected in this copy). Original holland-backed blue paper boards, the upper cover lettered in black. Provenance: From the Collection of Clive Wilmer (1945-2025; please see lot 418 for further biographical information); Edmund Bulkley (bookplate). ONE OF 525 COPIES of this final production and valedictory summation of the work of the Kelmscott Press, arguably the finest 'Private Press' ever to have existed. Under the exacting supervision and design of its founder William Morris, the press printed 53 books in 66 volumes over the seven years of its existence. The colophon states: "This was the last book printed at The Kelmscott Press. It was finished at No. XIV Upper Mall, Hammersmith, in the County of London, on the Fourth Day of March, MDCCCXCVIII. Sold by the Trustees of the Late William Morris at the Kelmscott Press."
