CUNINGHAME, Margaret, Lady (d. c.1622).  A Pairt of the Life of Lady Margaret Cuninghame, Daughter of the Earl of Glencairn, that she had with her first husband, the Master of Evandale. The just and true account thereof, as it was at first written with her own hand; Including a Letter to her husband the Master of Evandale, and another to my Lady Marquess of Hamilton, with her last Will sent to the said Lady Marquess, inclosed therein. Edinburgh: "Printed by James Ballantyne and Co.," 1827. 4to (208 x 170mm). Engraved frontispiece on india paper, mounted, title printed in red and black with large woodcut initial, ornaments (frontispiece spotted, some light mainly marginal browning and offsetting to the title). Contemporary plain paper boards (spine rather worn, some light spotting and staining). Provenance: "Robert Cunninghame [sic] Cunninghame Graham Bontine as being the direct descendent & representative of Robert, the 2nd son of Nicol Graham of Gartmore, & who was the first Bontine of Ardoch & then succeeded his father to Gartmore in 1775 and in 1796 succeeded to Findlaystone & name of Cunninghame as hier [sic] to his mother, daughter to the Earl of Glencairn, Lady Margaret Cunninghame. From his cousins, the Miss Speirs. [added in a different hand:] Laurel Hill. G. C. G. Gartmore" (19th-century inscription on the front blank leaf); M. H. Spiers (old signature on the upper cover).
