Folio (356 x 145mm). Half title printed in red and black, titles printed in red, green and black, illustrations by William Russell Flint, some full-page, some printed in colours, initials and ornaments printed in colours. Finely bound in original full crushed dark blue pictorial morocco gilt by Mansell, the spine lettered in gilt with five raised bands, gilt edges, marbled endpapers after a design by the artist, blue buckram slipcase, silk tie. FIRST EDITION. NUMBER 1,008 OF 1,050 COPIES SIGNED BY THE ARTIST'S SON, FRANCIS RUSSELL FLINT. At the end of the book, a facsimile letter from the artist's son explains the circumstances of the book's posthumous publication following the death of William Russell Flint on 27 December 1969.
