CONDITION REPORT
With two brass-cased heavy month-going weights, steel rod brass bob pendulum, no key.
The clock presents in very good condition. It has been the subject of careful sensitive restoration at some point. Evidence of some reconstruction to the hood including the runners for the rise. The backboard runs the whole length and the base panel appears to be original, as some losses and repairs evident. Some re-veneering and possibly replaced mouldings? Bun feet replaced. The original cheeks have been replaced with a filleted join not easily visible. It’s likely then the spoon and hood lock are later replaced?
The movement is in good condition. It has a period seatboard. The movement is in good order and appears to have been well maintained. It might require a service and re-oil? Parts of the bolt-and-shutter mechanism might be replaced?
Overall a beautiful clock with the rarity of a month-going movement including bolt-and-shutter maintaining power.
