Barry Cawston produces series of work which move between architecture, interiors, portraiture, landscape and social documentary. His style remains recognisable across this spectrum with an almost painterly quality that encompasses both contemporary and classical approaches.

His recent bodies of work have have taken up to a year to complete and include Echoes from the Arboretum, Are We There Yet? Banksy’s Dismaland and Weston-super-Mare, Russia ‘Far From Black and White’ and Disturbia (a collaborative project with artist Anthony Garratt). These projects have culminated in high profile exhibitions, published books and touring museum shows.

Banksy’s Dismaland and Others was atVolklingen Hutte (UNESCOWorld Heritage Site) in Germany and then toured museums in Porto, Lisbon, Santiago and Madrid.

Recipient of numerous awards, including the President’s Award at the RWA Open Photography Exhibition, Cawston exhibits widely at prestigious galleries and art fairs...... His work demonstrates that in the hands of an artist of talent, photography can be a powerfully expressive medium able to create art of great beauty and to transmute the ordinary into the unexpected. He has recently been made a Royal West Academician in recognition of his contribution to art and photography.
