Rachael Dalzell (1984 - )

'Winter’s Flooded Forest’ is an atmospheric painting of a flooded forest in winter’s warm light.  The foliage in the foreground and trees beyond create a sense of depth and intrigue.  The rich colour palette gives the painting an uplifting feel.

Dalzell’s paintings are large, colourful and expressive.  Her free and lively use of paint makes her work as much about mood as it is of place. They celebrate the joy of light and colour in nature as well as the shape of the landscape.  She describes her paintings as a ‘snapshot’ both visually and emotionally of a place.  Many of her paintings are inspired by her Norfolk home.
