Inspired by a misty spring morning at Morston Creek with Blakeney Church on the distant hills and boats in the foreground, Dalzell’s paintings are large, colourful and expressive. Her free and lively use of paint makes her work as much about mood as it is of place. They celebrate the joy of light and colour in nature as well as the shape of the landscape. She describes her paintings as a ‘snapshot’ both visually and emotionally of a place. Many of her paintings are inspired by her Norfolk home.
