Footnote:

The Swiss bookseller Joseph Deboffe opened his shop at 7, Gerrard Street, Soho, in 1792 and then moved to 10, Nassau Street (also in Soho) where he remained between 1808 and 1818. Deboffe specialised in importing and retailing French books. Charlotte was Queen of Württemberg as the wife of King Frederick I. She was the eldest daughter and fourth child of George III of the United Kingdom and his wife, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
